Oh My Life! - Tales Of My Life and Times - Road Trip!, Disney Sing-a-Longs, Air Guitars, THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR, Gavin and Stacey Times and Mr Blue Sky!

Hi!!!

Today's post is a good'un! (I know, I'm so modest...) Alllll the way back in April, I went to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff with one of my favourites ever - of course, my ever fabulous best friend Elf Girl (find her tiny elf-self HERE) - and it was, as you can imagine, a pretty epic day.

From where we live, it takes about two and a half hours to get to Cardiff, but we know how to handle such road trips - with air guitars and rock songs and Disney soundtracks and selfies in traffic, which is just the best. Like, seriously, I had such a great time spending two and a half hours sat in a car!

When we got to Cardiff, we had something to eat before heading over to the giant blue thing that is the Doctor Who Experience.
We bought our tickets and then had a bit of a walk round, taking photos of the bits and bobs that are sat lining the queue.

Once you get inside, there's the Interactive Experience that gets you much more involved in it all. I don't want to spoil it for any of you Whovians out there, but it is awesome!
Do it the GingerSnaps and Elf Girl way and make sassy comments the whole way around, feel confused about why random people keep talking to you and always elbow your way to the front.

Upon leaving the interactive bit, we entered the Exhibition Hall which is where all of the sets and artefacts are.
We ran around like crazy people trying to see everything and take photos with everything and we did pretty bloomin well. We also had our photo taken in the TARDIS - twice - and saw lots of really interesting things. There is more up the stairs from here, from lots of more recent episodes, which is cool, and we had loads of fun being silly and trying to pose like we were "running away from the bad guys" which inevitably involved falling over! Ooops!

We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Mermaid Quay, which is right by the experience, entering the children's colouring competition at Starbucks - including a FRIENDS reference - and making it to the wall (!!!), and heading out to Barry to fangirl over Gavin & Stacey and to get ourselves on every kids arcade ride possible (including a rollercoaster simulator on which we nearly lost a purse!)

The way home included singing ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) and Queen at the very tip top of our lungs and lots of laughing.

So, thanks to Elf Girl for asking me to join her, I had such an absolutely brilliant time. Go and check out her excellent blog (HERE), and the posts she has done about our day (HERE) and (HERE), the latter includes captions of epic proportions for some of the photos seen here, and some of her own - should make you chuckle.

Thank you for reading, I hope that you have enjoyed this post, and that this was interesting - especially for the Whovians amongst you.
Have you been to the Doctor Who Experience? What did you think? Would you like to go? Do you have any comments or suggestions for future posts that you'd like to see? Let me know in the comments below.
See you all soon,

Have an superb day!

So, To Sum It All Up - August Summary.

Hi!!!

So, again, as in July, a slight lack of posts during August - appologies. Let's consider this a catch up on what I have been up to while I was away.

Here are my highlights from August - I hope you enjoy.

Lunches with Family.

I know this isn't a post related topic, but I enjoyed a number of lovely lunches out with my family in August - mainly catch-up-y lunches with my Mom.

I am a self confessed foodie and family time lover, so the multiple sandwiches, cakes, noodles and cups of tea consumed (not all in one sitting) were much enjoyed and valued.

Its nice to have little things to enjoy and look forward to like these.

The Centenary Anniversary of World War One.

I am a complete history nut and have studied (and continue to study) World War One, so I obviously  had a big interest in this.

I said a great deal about how I felt in my post about it and I do feel as though it is something that everyone should stand up and take notice of as it is such a big part of the world's history.
I do believe that it is vital for things like this to be remembered and commemorated, so I was glad to share a post with you all.

And that post can be found over (HERE).

Elf Girl's Birthday.

August saw the month of my best friend's birthday - she is known in the Blog World as Elf Girl.

I went round to see her on her birthday with some gifts (including some treats from Lush and HMV) and watched the Corpse Bride and ate After Eights with her.

I hope she had a wonderful day and enjoyed all of her celebrations as she truly deserves those kinds of things - not just in my eyes, but in everyone else's too.

To find Elf Girl's Blogger Profile - and thus her blogs - click (HERE).

To find links to Lush and HMV (where you can purchase the Corpse Bride on DVD), click (HERE) and (HERE).

Thinking About Things in my Life.

In August, I shared some "Brain Bits" with you - they were things I had been thinking about a bit during the month and wanted to share.

I like thinking about little things, as you know, and I like sharing them to give other people ideas for themselves and an insight into my mind to get to know me better.

To find my "Brain Bits", mosey on over (HERE).

Whovian Times.

Myself and Elf Girl really are self confessed Whovians (fans of Doctor Who, for those of you who aren't nerds  aware).

We went to see the first episode of the new series in our local cinema and enjoyed the benefits of it, with extra exclusives and a live Q&A with the cast and crew (which was streamed from London around the country and the world).

I really enjoyed myself and love the new series, and the new doctor! I had a lovely time with Elf Girl that day.

Some fun stories for the day include: us tracking the movements of the people who came in CosPlay (costume, again for those of you who aren't nerds aware) as David Tennant's Doctor Who and Matt Smith's Doctor Whos (i.e Oh, look, David Tennant bought popcorn) and my falling through the fold of a cinema chair in an effort to climb over to the next row and rescue the Sonic Screwdriver that Elf Girl brought with her.

My Favourite Blog Posts From August.

"Shout Out" on Chronicles Of Red Herring, (HERE).

I know I'm a bit biased as it is a post for/about me (can I just point out how awesome it feels for someone to write a post for you?!), but I think that it shows a very thoughtful, funny and lovely side to Elf Girl and really put a smile on my face.

"Your Toy Story" on A Rosie Outlook, (HERE).

This is really my kind of post.
I am a sentimental person - who, like Rosie, sleeps with a teddy and keeps them in my bedroom -  and love hearing stories people have like this and little memories associated with teddies and toys too.

"The Game Of Love" on Charlotte's Web, (HERE).

I found this post humorous, endearing and slightly charming (in a quirky kind of way).
I love how Charlotte's personality shines through in her posts and she is so open.
I also love how in her list of unspeakable things, she included watching all of the Twilight films... Its true.

"We Liked: Things You Didn't Know About Us" on Little Winter, (HERE).

This post was fun, a bit interesting (in terms of an being an insight into Katy and Co.) and made me smile and chuckle.

I like posts which tell you more about the people whose blog's you read, it provides a bit more connection between reader and writer.

"Wandering and Dreaming" on Made Up Of Little Things, (HERE).

This post was open, beautiful and it was lovely that Rachael decided to share this as it is so personal to her.

I'm sure lots of people can relate to things like this - there are always things that remind you of the loved ones you lose.

I think it would also be of good comfort to the people who have recently had loses - you know how you are - to read it.

Plus, stunning photography here.

"Full English" on The London Project, (HERE).

Not only did this look like an awesome, very yummy, Full English Breakfast, it is a very good shot of something ironically British, which fit the blog well.

Also, the cutlery is the same as the cutlery we use in my house and the cup of tea in the background looks of a reasonable size too - additional brownie points added to Charlotte's tally.

"Afternoon on Embankment" on What Olivia Did, (HERE).

I really liked this outfit as it was classic yet fun and unique as well as the photography, the location - I love London, as you know - and how pretty Olivia looks.

It was a great outfit post.

There you go then, a summary for August. I hope that you have enjoyed this post. It is so nice to be back blogging. I'm looking forward to lots of posts and lots of fun on this blog and I should be back to more regular posts again now. I hope this makes you as happy as it makes me.
What did you get up to in August? Anything similar to me? Did you read any of my favourite blog posts? What did you think of them? Any ideas or suggestions for future posts? Fancy a chat? Let me know in the comments.
I hope you'll be back soon.

Have a really fun day!

So, To Sum It All Up - November Summary.

Hi!!!

Another month over already and now its December. You know what that means. It's CHRISTMAS BABY!
So much has happened this past month, and I've written so many posts. Some are still in draft form, waiting to go, so I will send those off into cyberspace as soon as I can, but I can assure you, this month has been fun. I remember when I did my October Summary, I said that I was unsure if I'd do these every month, and I still don't know, but for November, I will. I might go on a bit here, so make sure you're sitting comfortably.

Bonfire Night and all the Fireworks.

I love Bonfire Night. One of my favourite things in the world is fireworks; they're glitter for the sky. My Mom and I went to our favourite display, about half an hour away from us. We had chips and a good old brew in a paper cup, and bopped about to really rather rubbish music. The bonfire was on a very windy night, and so all the sparks and ashes blew to one side. That happened to be the side I was on, and fire scares me a little, so that was a bit of a panic. But then it settled, and the fireworks started, and everything looked magic. Gold twirls, and silver swirls, green glimmers and blue shimmers - that got a bit odd... But, yes, I had a fabulous time. I wore my Primark Super Cosy Tights - the best things in the world - and so I was nice and toasty, so keep them in mind for the future. I had a great evening.

You can find a post I did about Bonfire Night (HERE).

Supporting others.

November, for me, is a great time for helping others. With Remembrance Day and Children in Need going on, there is plenty of reason to support people who help us and who need help. It's a lovely feeling knowing that you are showing that you care about what people do for you and that you care about people who need your help.

You can find my Remembrance posts (HERE) and (HERE). You can find my Children in Need post (HERE).

Days Out and About.

I've been busy this month, going out and about all over the place.
I went on a day out with my Auntie, my Mom, and my Auntie's best friend. We went to Chatsworth House for some festive shenanigans, and I had a lovely time. It was a great day, and it got me feeling incredibly Christmassy.
Then, I was off to see the Nutcracker Ballet, which was spectacular. I can tell you right now that I had a brilliant time. I want to be a ballerina!!!
And, after all that, I was off to MCM Comic Con in Birmingham with Elf Girl, which was just... oh my glob. Myself and Elf Girl are complete and utter geeks, so we were in our element entirely and... just wow.

I have blog posts coming up on everything I just talked about. You can find a post about being busy right (HERE). You can find Elf Girl's blog (HERE).

My Mom's Birthday.

This section will be short and sweet, but I loved spending some quality time with my Mom and doing my best to make sure she had a lovely day. I even wrote her a blog post.

You can find that post (HERE).

Whovian Times.

The Day of the Doctor/the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary. I am a Whovian; sorry, not sorry. I found this whole thing very exciting, though I still haven't seen it, because I've been a bit too busy. Must watch soon. I hope I don't bore you lot with my weird fangirling.

You can find my Whovian ramblings (HERE).

My favourite YouTube video from November.

For a change, I haven't actually been on YouTube a lot this month, because I've had other things to keep me busy. I did, however, make some time to watch this 25 FACTS ABOUT ME! video, by Jim Chapman, (HERE). Jim is one of my favourite YouTubers and I do love a good 25 Facts About Me. Brilliant.

My favourite Blog post from November.

I love a Mundane Midweek post, and Charlotte's most recent instalment didn't disappoint. It's on the blog Charlotte's Web, and it's called Mundane Midweek - you can find it (HERE). Charlotte's version of mundane is very different to mine. If that's her day to day, then, wow. And I know I included a post from A Rosie Outlook last time, but Rosie really is a kindred spirit. Going Back to the Sea (HERE), was a nice read.

Alrighty then. I think after all that reading, you'll be ready to wave goodbye to November and crack on with December; a time of red lippy, Christmas trees and lighter wallets.

Have a completely brilliant day!

Fan-Girl-ing - Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

Hi!!!

I am a Whovian. OK? I may not be as dedicated to the cause as some people but I basically just bloomin love Doctor Who. And, in case you didn't know, today is

THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR!!!

I am very, very excited for this. I do have a soft spot for the Doctor, but I think everyone does really. I cannot believe that Doctor Who has been going for 50 whole years. Yep, 50th Anniversary happening here, guys.

I can't wait to see all the Doctors and Companions back together - especially looking forward to David Tennant - best Doctor ever! - and Billie Piper - best Companion ever! - during this episode. I'm also looking forward to all the monsters returning to my screen.

I'm out and about tonight so I'm taping it - thank goodness for Sky+ - so I'll have to watch it when I get back from my super busy Sunday. I'm still excited - in case you didn't pick up on that from what I've said before.

Have a great day (of the doctor!) hehe...
