We Will Remember Them - Remembrance Sunday and The Poppy Appeal.

Hi!!!
Good morning. Today is Remembrance Sunday, and while I did do a post on similar themes yesterday, I wanted to post a very short post to honour today, as has become traditional for this blog.

Today, as there was yesterday, there will be a two minute silence to honour those who have died in conflicts worldwide since WW1. I strongly encourage you to participate in the silence, think of those who have been and are impacted by conflict as a mark of respect for them all.

I also wanted to remind you that it's not too late to donate to the Royal British Legion's 2017 Poppy Appeal, the money from which will go to supporting veterans through all sorts of issues from careers advice to rehabilitation courses and also on raising and maintaining the profile of Remembrance in our communities. You can find out more information (here).

Thank you so much for reading.

Lest We Forget - A Message on Armistice Day.

Hi!!!

Good morning, I hope you're all well. Today, as you probably know, is Armistice Day and I've written a post today to honour that.

Today is obviously Armistice Day and there will be a two minute silence at 11am to honour those who have died in conflicts around the world since WW1.
Every year I write posts encouraging you to stop and think about those who have been and are impacted by wars, past and present and to remember what others have done for us. I do this because I truly believe that, regardless of our opinions about the conflicts they are involved in, service men and women, past and present, deserve our respect.
So treat this as your reminder to participate in the silence and take the opportunity to reflect.
Thanks for reading.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far.

Have a lovely Saturday!

We Will Remember Them - Thoughts On Remembrance Sunday

Hi!!!
Good morning. So today is Remembrance Sunday, as you probably know, and while I did a post on remembrance on Friday, I wanted to say a few words today, too, so here we go. They may be similar to my words on Armistice Day, but I'd still appreciate if you read it.

Today, there will be a two minute silence to honour those who have died in conflicts worldwide since WW1. Here's a reminder to stop at 11am and take the time to think about those who have fought and those who are impacted by conflict. Those who have served and are serving deserve to be thought of by us for all that they did and do for us all, whether we agree with war or not. Remembrance is so important.

Thank you so much for reading.

Lest We Forget - A Few Words On Armistice Day

Hi!!!

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday! Today, as you probably know, is Armistice Day and so I've put together a short post to honour that.

Today, Armistice Day, as on Remembrance Sunday, there will be a two minute silence to honour those who have died in conflicts worldwide since WW1. I wanted to encourage you to stop at 11am and take the time to think about those who have fought and are fighting and those who are impacted and have been impacted by war. To think about the things that others have done for us. Whatever we may think about war, those who have served and are serving deserve to be remembered and respected.

Thank you so much for reading.

We Will Remember Them... - Remembrance Sunday 2015.

Hi!!!

While this post is quite serious one, it is also an important one. If you've been around for a while, you'll know how important I think Remembrance Celebrations are, and so I have written this.

Today is Remembrance Sunday (as I'm sure you know if you are in the UK). Today is a day for remembering the brave service men and women across the globe who have sacrificed their lives for their country in various conflicts all the way from the First World War right up to more recent conflicts. It is also a time to spare a thought for those still out there fighting, to think about the service men and women who have survived war and to think about the families who have supported and are supporting the service-people they care about as well as the families who haven't been so lucky as to see their loved ones return home.

We wear poppies every year throughout the months of October and November as a sign that the armed forces and their families are thought of and remembered by us as a nation, as individuals and as communities. By buying Poppies, you can donate to Royal British Legion so that they can continue their work to support service men and women and their families and friends during and after conflicts, no matter what happens to them. I will always wear a poppy with pride.

I hope that today you are respectful and take part in the two minute silence at 11 o'clock, and make those two minutes count in whatever way it is you see fit (be it silent prayer or reflection or thought).

And so, to Service Men and Women everywhere in the world, alive or passed, who fought a century ago or this year, I salute you. We will never forget.

Find the Royal British Legion and the Poppy Appeal (HERE)
I'm going to write some more about Rememberance on Wednesday - and will be urging you to take part in the second two minute silence. Do check back then to see that, if you'd like to.
Do you have a poppy or maybe a pinbadge or wristband to wear? What does Rememberance Sunday mean to you? Do you have any stories you would like to share about this topic? Do have any comments or suggestions for future posts? Why not let me know in the comments below? Lets all be respectful there, please...
Thank you for reading, see you guys later.

Have a lovely day.

We Will Remember Them... - Rememberance Sunday 2014

Hi!!!

While this post is s serious one, it is also a very important one. You guys know how important Rememberance is to me  and so I wanted to post something today. I will be posting something on Tuesday, too, so look out for that.

Today is Remembrance Sunday, as I'm sure you are aware. Today, and Tuesday, are days of remembering the service men and women from around the world who have sacrificed their lives for their country. Today is also a day to think of those who are still out there fighting, and to think about the service men and women  who have survived war. It is also a time to think about the families throughout time who have and are supporting the soldiers they love and the families who have not been lucky enough to have their loved ones return home.

Obviously, this year has a bit of a more of a focus on those who died in the First World War, those who lived through it and those who were impacted by it, too, because of the centenary anniversary and rightly so.

We wear poppies every year throughout October and November to show that service men and women and their families are being thought of and/or remembered by us as individuals and as communities. Poppies are also a great way of giving money to the Royal British Legion so that they can support service men and women and their families and friends during and after wars, no matter what happens to them.
To me, it is significant to wear a poppy on Rememberance Sunday and Armistice Day (at least) and this year, I not only have my Royal British Legion poppy but a beautifully crafted poppy I was given while in Normandy last month and I wear both with utter pride.

I hope that today you are respectful and take part in the two minute silence. Two minutes from your day is all it takes to show just how much the service men and women are valued by us all and it means a lot to them, the people they are close to and to a tonne of other people. We all know about the wars throughout history, from one-hundred years ago to last year and everyone has an understanding of war. That why there's no excuse not to be silent for just two minutes.

And with all this in mind, I'm sure that at 11 o'clock this morning, you'll know what to do. And in that two minutes, think to yourself about the things discussed here, of stories you have heard, of people you might know or anything relevant, if you like. Maybe you might like to pray or reflect. Just make sure those two minutes count.

And in the words of someone I met once, "Never forget".

To all Service Men and Women everywhere in the world , alive or passed, who fought years ago or today, I salute you.

I'm going to write some more about Rememberance on Tuesday - and will be urging you to take part in the second two minute silence. Do check back then to see that.
Do you have a poppy or maybe a pinbadge or wristband to wear? What does Rememberance Sunday mean to you? Do you have any stories you would like to share about this topic? Do have any comments or suggestions for future posts? Why not let me know in the comments? Lets all be respectful there, please...
See you guys soon!
I hope your day is a good'un and that you spend some time remembering.

We Will Remember Them... - Remembrance Sunday

Hi!!!

This is a more serious note for this blog, but I feel it is imperative that we speak about it together. I couldn't choose whether to do a post today or tomorrow, however I decided to do a post on both.

Today is Remembrance Sunday. It is a time for us to remember the service men and women who have given their lives for their country. It's also to think of those who are still out their fighting, and those who have survived war.

We wear poppies all through November, and part of October too. It's a way of showing we are remembering service men and women, and also, it shows we have donated to the Poppy Appeal. I also have a wristband, and I've seen people with pin badges and poppy's for their cars too.

Although, Poppy's do have a habit of going missing, the most important bit for me is to wear a poppy on Remembrance Sunday and Day.

I hope that today, at 11am, you are all respectful and partake in the 2 minutes silence. I also hope you'll do the same tomorrow. Just 2 minutes today, and 2 minutes tomorrow. That is all it takes, and yet it means so much to service men and women, their families/friends and so many other people too.

I'm going to write some more about Remembrance tomorrow, as Remembrance Day is on the 11th of November. Do check back then, and please partake in the silences.

To all Service Men and Women everywhere, alive or passed, I salute you.

I hope your day is good, and that you spend part of it reflecting.
